METAR and TAF

Paste a weather report and read it line by line in plain language. See the ceiling, the crosswind on your runway and whether VFR is allowed in the control zone. Then practise on reports made for you.

Decoded

Decode a report

Paste a METAR, SPECI or TAF. The format follows ICAO Annex 3, used across Europe.

VFR at the aerodrome

Based on SERA.5005 and SERA.5010 for aeroplanes. Your aerodrome, airspace and operator may have stricter rules.

    Runway

    Crosswind and headwind

Wind in a METAR is true, runway numbers are magnetic. In southern Norway the difference is only a few degrees, so most pilots use the numbers directly.
