What Birdbird stores, where it is stored, and how to remove it, in plain language.
Birdbird uses two kinds of storage that belong to your browser: local storage for small settings and progress, and IndexedDB for documents and larger files. Neither is sent to a Birdbird server.
| What | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Progress, test results and rank | To show which labs you have done and your rank. | Local storage |
| Language and display choices | To remember English or Norwegian and how you left a page. | Local storage |
| Briefing packs, aircraft and navigation logs | So you can return to a plan you have made. | Local storage |
| Your documents (AFM, QRH, SOP, checklists) | So Flight Intelligence can answer from them. | IndexedDB |
| Instructor setups and sessions | To keep your aircraft setups and earlier sessions. | Local storage, IndexedDB |
| Attachments in the briefing pack | So the files stay with the plan. | IndexedDB |
When Birdbird runs inside ClaudeIf you open Birdbird as an app inside Claude, saved briefing packs, aircraft, instructor setups and sessions are also kept in private storage tied to your own Claude account, so they follow you between devices. Only you can see them. Your documents are not copied there; they stay in the browser.
Because nothing is stored on a Birdbird server, Birdbird cannot see, recover or delete your data for you. Clearing it is in your hands, see below.
Flight Intelligence, the oral exam in the type rating trainer and some training exercises use an AI model. When Birdbird runs inside Claude and you use one of these features, the request goes through your own Claude account.
A request contains your question and the passages from your documents that are needed to answer it, not the whole library. Anthropic's terms and privacy policy for your Claude account apply to those requests.
Where no AI is available, the AI features are switched off and nothing is sent.
Before it changesIf Birdbird later offers AI on its own domain, without a Claude account, this page will be updated before that service is switched on, and it will say who processes the requests.
Birdbird does not set cookies, does not use analytics or tracking tools, and shows no advertising. No tracking pixels, no social media widgets.
The fonts are stored with the site and loaded from it, so opening a page does not send your address to a font service.
Like any website, the server that delivers the pages may keep ordinary technical logs, such as the time of a request and an IP address, for operation and security. Birdbird does not use them to follow you.
Removes progress, settings, saved plans, setups and documents that Birdbird has stored in this browser. It cannot be undone.
Data kept with your Claude account, when Birdbird runs inside Claude, is removed by deleting the saved items inside Birdbird.
Accounts, school features or a hosted AI service would change what is stored and where. This page will be updated before any of that is switched on.
